Friday, January 27, 2012 The RV taskforce was dispatched to the Village Square apts on Garden St in district 50 for a reported fire in an apartment. Chief 1300 (Pearson) arrived first due to find smoke coming from a third story apartment and assumed command. SQ2723 arrived first due and positioned on the "C" side and stretched a 2" attack line to the "A" side interior stairwell to the third floor apartment. The crew found an active fire in the kitchen extending down the hallway. Crews made a quick knock down then the crew split and performed a primary search. The outside vent crew threw a ladder to "C" side balcony. The crew from E5013 laddered the "A" side and controlled utilities then performed overhaul. Other units from Eastampton, hainesport, Lumberton, and America EMS were also on scene. The cause is under investigation by District 50 fire officials office.
