The last two weeks have been filled with training here at the WTES. Four (4) members passed a two week long eighty (80) hour HAZMAT Technician class at Camden County Fire Academy. During this class they learned about chemistry, and how to mitigate different types of hazardous materials incidents. Whether intentional or not, from leaking chemical drums, overturned tractor trailers, or terroristic threats. The WTES is one of two departments that currently respond with the Burlington County HAZMAT Hammer 15 team.
Also, during this past weekend four (4) members took a Trench Rescue Technician course which was the second of two (2 of 2) twenty (20) hour classes. This was an advanced level course which taught how to work in trenches with a "T" or "L" shape involved. The WTES also deploys with the Burlington County Technical Rescue Team that consists of four other departments within the county.
