Thursday, January 31, 2013 A quick moving storm brought high winds and rain through the area. The storm caused numerous wires and trees to come down resulting in almost half the town to be without power at some point. There were a few major roadways closed due to the downed trees, including Rancoas Road and Woodlane Road. PSE&G was working hard to get things back up and running as of 1000 hours. The engine crew and fire police units were busy all through the early morning hours. As a safety message; IF THERE ARE CONES, BARRICADES, CAUTION TAPE, OR FLARES OUT; PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO GO AROUND OR THROUGH THEM. There were several motorists that tried and became stuck or part of the incident by driving into the hazardous area. Our crews and the officers of the WTPD put those precautions out for your safety, help us help you by respecting those protective measures.
