CHANGE YOUR CLOCKS..... CHANGE YOUR BATTERIES

Saturday, March 9, 2013  Tonight we'll "Spring" our clocks forward. Please remember to change your smoke and carbon monoxide detector batteries. Detectors DO save lives. For residents that can not reach their detectors or have trouble with their detectors; you can contact the fire station and we will schedule a time with you to come out and assist you.

   


 

VEHICLE ON ITS SIDE WITH DRIVER TRAPPED

Friday, March 1, 2013   At approx 1445 hours crews were dispatched to Main Street and Olive Street in the Rancocas Village Section for a MVA with an overturned vehicle with the driver trapped. Squad 2723 arrived first and confirmed the report and went in service with stabilization and tools. Willingboro EMS, Virtua ALS, and Willingboro FD (precautionary for helicopter) were also on the assignment. WTPD assisted with patient care. The roof was removed and the patient was extricated. The helicopter was recalled and Willingboro EMS transported the victim. WTES BLS 2783 cleared a previous assignment and responded to assist as well.

     



 

QUICK RESPONSE HOLDS FIRE TO BASEMENT

Thursday, February 21, 2013  At 10:23 this morning crews on Squad 2723 (Johnson) and BLS 2781 responded to report of a dwelling fire on Woodlane Road. Being in close distance to the station crews were able to quickly get into the basement and extinguish the fire from causing further damage. The crews used one 1 3/4 inch hoseline to extinguish the fire. PPV was used to force smoke from the home. Mutual aid companies from Willingboro Fire Department, Mount Laurel Fire Department, and Eastampton Fire Rescue were also on location. Crews were available within an hour of this incident.

     



 

CREWS MAKE QUICK WORK OF REPORTED 34 DWELLING FIRE

Monday, February 18, 2013  At approximiately 0910 hours the units from 34, E13, L50, E27, and BLS 27 were dispatched to the Vistas section of Eastampton for a reported dwelling fire. The Squad and BLS were en route quickly. While en route PD reported heavy smoke showing and a possible laundry room fire. SQ2723 and BLS2781 were first due and led off with an attack line to an exterior fire that had extended into the garage area on the "B" side.The crews made quick work of the fire and overahuled the area keeping it contained to the area of origin.  RE3411 and U3419 arrived and provided additional manpower. Other units on location Chief 1300 (CP34) and L5015 was in staging. The cause was under investigation by FM34. While en route back the station the SQ2723 picked up two more alarm systems.

Monday, February 11, 2013   We would like to thank Westampton Township Police Department. The WTPD presented the WTES Fire Police a certificate along with a plaque thanking them for their service. Each year Fire Police assist the Police and Fire Departments with directing traffic during motor vehicle accidents, severe weather events, and other emergencies that require traffic control. 

     



 

Engine on Willingboro House Fire

Saturday, February 9, 2013  During the late afternoon hours units were dispatched to the report of a house fire with one possibly still inside on Madestone Ln. in Willingboro.  Engine 1613 arrived to find fire showing from the second floor of a 2 story, single family dwelling.  Engine 2721 was added several minutes into the call due to another unit being unavailable. Engine 2721 (6 personnel) arrived third due and secured a water supply.  On location the crew performed exterior ventillation, a primary search of division 2, fire extinguishment, and overhaul of the dwelling.  The engine operated on location for about two hours before returning to service.  One firefighter was transported to a local hospital with minor injuires.  Photos courtesty Erin O'Donnell.

     



 

TROOP 22298 VISITS FIREHOUSE TO GET FIRST AID BADGE

Saturday, February 2, 2013   Last night Girl Scout Troop 22298 visited the firehouse for an hour. They were learning about first aid and EMS to obtain their First Aid Badge. During their time there they learned basic first aid practices, got a tour of the ambulance along with a tour of the station. 


   


 

NEW WEBISODE ON "THE BATTALION" WITH MATJACK AIRBAGS

Thursday, January 31, 2013  There is a new webisode up on www.thebattalion.tv with our crews working with crews from Mount Laurel FD, Evesham Fire and Rescue,  and Lumberton FD. It is episode #10. In this episode the crews are working with representatives of Matjack airbags on use of high and low pressure air bags in rescue situations. Once again thanks to David Furtado and the crew from Tule Fog productions for another great session.
